What to do with this???
An old lamp from my parents- look at the size of that lampshade!!! I want to paint this but maybe should find a new lampshade first before I pick a color? I'm not sure what to do- so it will sit for awhile until the inspiration finds me!

You are a fabric magician so just use something you have laying around to recover the shade. You could probably use fabric or paper. Paint the lamp base. You can make it look cool.
But don't you think the shade it too big????? It's ji-normous!!!!
That's what will make it cool. Cover it with something opaque in a striking color. Maybe a dark color. Paint the lamp silver.
